VISION

The vision of Salt & Light Christian Fellowship is that students at Brown and RISD know they are fully known and deeply loved by God and can be wholly found and justified in Jesus Christ.

To this end, our purpose is to equip students to:

  • Study and apply Scripture

  • Serve their communities, including their campuses and the local church

  • Grow in their personal faith, grace, and discipleship

  • Learn about the tenets of Christian doctrine through the lens of Reformed theology

  • Foster meaningful relationships in the body of Christ

  • Share and live out the Gospel

  • Actively participate in church community and service upon graduation

Meet our campus minister

IMG_9126.heic

Travis moved to Providence from St. Louis and has lived in a variety of places in the Midwest and on the east coast. He holds a B.A. in Economics and started his career in the corporate world, working for multiple Fortune 500 companies before going back to school for a Masters of Divinity and to pursue a call to full-time pastoral ministry. Travis has been the pastor of Salt & Light at Brown/RISD since the fall of 2022, and his favorite thing about his job is getting to know students over meals or coffee. You can often find him at Ceremony, the Blue Room, or Carr Haus!

Meet our Intern

lorena_edited.jpg

Lorena was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. At 13, she moved to the United States with her family and made Nashville, Tennessee, her second home. She attended Western Kentucky University, where she received a degree in Music with a concentration in classical guitar. WKU is also where Lorena fell in love with the ministry of RUF. The students and staff there made a lasting impact on her and, by God's grace, she is beyond excited to continue the work at Brown/RISD. Lorena is an avid enjoyer of going to coffee shops and pretending to drink coffee, spending as much time as possible with her friends and is probably the biggest Taylor Swift fan you'll ever meet.
